Capcom Announces New DuckTales; Dungeons & Dragons!

Capcom Announces New DuckTales

Capcom made quite a few announcements at Pax East!

So we had some fun yesterday trying to guess what Capcom would announce at Pax East today. And… I was off. Like, waaaay off.

Street Fighter IV: Looks like Capcom is working on a new update for their flagship fighting series; adding new things and doing some more character tweaks. This time though, it seems they want feedback from the fans (photo posted on The Shadowloo Facebook page):

Super Street Fighter IV Update Patch 2013

Wonder if they’ll cancel the patch due to “low fan participation” like they did Mega Man Legends 3. HEYOOOO~!

So yea… “Three Update” requirement rendered invalid. :D

Essentially, Capcom’s going to create threads for each character on the Capcom-Unity forums where fans can give ‘em suggestions. There’s already 10 threads open, and more will open in the coming weeks.

For more details, Shoryuken.com’sĀ  got you covered.

Mega Man: So the Mega Man fans aren’t forgotten after all! Community manager Brett Elston says that a new Mega Man game is in the works, but it’s not ready for prime time just yet.

In addition, NES classics Mega Man 4 and Mega Man 5 are heading to the Nintendo 3DS Virtual Console (on April 25th and May 16th, respectively).

Capcom’s been breaking plenty of promises to the Mega Man fans, so I sincerely hope that they’re able to keep this one, at the very least :?

HD… DUNGEONS & DRAGONS!!!!!: Colour me pleasantly surprised! Capcom had a lot of awesome multi-player brawlers with medieval twists in the arcade back in the day. Now we’re getting two of their Dungeons & Dragon brawlers, Tower of Doom and Shadow Over Mystara, in one convenient package.

Dungeons & Dragons: Chronicles of Mystara will contain HD remakes of both games and will be available for download on PSN, XBLA, and Wii U this June. What’s nifty is that, like in the original arcades, you can have up to 4 players slashing things at once with the drop-in/drop out online play.

There are some new features, like a Challenge mode that rewards you with level ups and coins that can be used to purchase other goodies in-game. There’s a set of House Rules that you can use to customize your game experience by turning features on or off (spotted “Lockpick” and “Vampirism” in the trailer). Plus, the game will keep track of which characters you and your buds are using most and make suggestions so that you can create a more balanced party (drop that Elf, and grab a Dwarf… just don’t toss him!).

I would be more than happy to go on an adventure with three of you lovely peeps and go lootin’ :D Check this trailer out!

DUCKTALES!!!: Oh… sonuva…

SONUVA~~~!

OOOOOOOOO MYYYYYYY GOOOOOOOOOOOD!

For those who didn’t grow up back in the NES day, DuckTales was a classic platformer where Scoorge McDuck is gathering the all the precious treasure of the world so he can keep his “World’s Wealthiest Duck” status. The game’s near and dear to many old schoolers out there. And now Capcom’s bringing DuckTales to a new generation, with developer WayForward Technologies at the helm.

This is a complete remastering of the NES classic. The HD looks gorgeous; the animation is just like watching a cartoon and there’s so much detail! Plus, the characters are being voiced by the show’s original cast. Ohhhhh yeaaaaa~!

There’s some new additions, like a handy Map screen, a complete remastering of the original soundtrack that sounds badass, and a money bin that you can actually swim in. SOLD!

Here’s the hilarious trailer for you to behold, and you’ll be able to get this for Wii U, PSN and XBLA this summer. Oh, I can’t wait!

So yea. Some pleasant surprises that I did NOT see coming. I won’t be happy ’till I have them staring me in the face, but man, I can’t wait for summer.

Fave Capcom thing announced. Comments Section. GO!

OK I’m not gonna lie. I thought Duck Tales was a unique game. I bought it for my sister when I gave her VanNESsa (my NES) in the 90s… which I later took back =o3. The game was good. Kinda short. Pretty. But not… groundbreaking. That was my take away. It was like a summer blockbuster. But like those blockbusters, easy to go back to. And the theme for the Moon stage. MAN oh MAN legendary! I might get that little gem, though I have the working original right here =o3

As for Dungeons and Dragons. I’m game for any multiplayer adventure you know that! Don’t toy with me Ms Goodman! Killing bad guys with your besties is what life is all about. =oD

Excellent… good to know you’ll be part of my Merry Men. Now we need two more… :P

And you should definitely get DuckTales, if only to show that you approve these type of beautiful 2D awesomesauce of games.

      Plus, dat MOON THEME.
