Final Fantasy XIV Lets Your Chocobo Heal You

Final Fantasy 14 - A Realm Reborn - Chocobo

Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn gives you the chance to teach your Chocobo tricks!

Final Fantasy XIV was an MMO I wanted to check out for a while. The Alpha and the Beta showed promise, but, ultimately turned out broken (which is about the nicest thing I could say about it). Now the new overhaul, A Realm Reborn, is looking good, to the point where Square Enix just might suck me back in. Maybe.

The new screenshots show a revamped main menu, as well as a revamped command slot system, where you use the d-pad and the other buttons to access your commands.

In addition to the new system facelift, Final Fantasy XIV will bring about new faces. Well, old faces. The MMO will introduce Final Fantasy III boss, Hein, and summons Odin and Leviathan. But who cares about all that!? Your Chocobo can heal you!

It’s true! Your trusty steeds can now have jobs. The illustrations show a White Mage Chocobo capable of healing you, as well as a Knight (possibly Dark Knight?) Chocobo that can lay down the hurt.

Final Fantasy XI was quite fun back in the day, and I really wouldn’t mind giving Final Fantasy XIV a try for a wee bit when it comes out on PlayStation 3.

Hmmm… if you could give your Chocobo a job, what would it be? Let me know in the Comments Section!

Why does Odin’s horse Sleipnir only have four legs? It’s supposed to have eight, but at least in past games it’s had six.
