Leaks suggest that the third game in the Assassin’s Creed series takes place during the American Revolution. 

The fine folks at Ubisoft have a “leak” in the office. I use quotations since these things can be intentional. Especially since the Assassin’s Creed Facebook page says to head over to the game’s site for some mind-blowing news in the next few days. Way to feed the hype! Sure, I’ll bite!

Anyhoo, the latest hot internet scuttlebutt is that Assassin’s Creed 3 is going to take place during the American Revolution. A Best Buy employee sent a couple of promotion images they received to the folks over at Kotaku. Here’s the money shot:

Then it seems that Game Informer had another image. The folks at Joystiq discovered this on the NeoGaf Forums (the image has since been removed from Game Informer’s site):

Well… I guess I best get to playing those Assassin’s Creed games, eh?

As for the setting, I can dig America. I suppose heading to Japan would’ve been the too easy/obvious route…? I just wanna smack people around with that sweet-lookin’ tomahawk, really.
