FANDEMONIUM!: Longplay – Castlevania: Circle of the Moon (GBA)

Grab some popcorn and a drink, kiddies. This’ll be a long one!

Castlevania Mania month continues to haunt the very fabric of FANDEMONIUM! This time around we’re taking a look at Castlevania: Circle of the Moon for Game Boy Advance.

As you may recall from the Divine Bloodlines feature, this is one of the CV games that game producer Koji Igarashi ret-conned out of the timeline only to ret-con it back in. :P

Camilla, one of Dracula’s minions revives the Count in order to do… er… bad things. Vampire hunter Morris Baldwin, along with his apprentices Nathan Graves and Hugh Baldwin, arrive on the scene in order to stop them from their evil doings. Dracula brushes the apprentices aside and captures Morris, intent on making him a sacrifice. Hugh runs off on his own to save Morris (that’s his daddy in trouble, after all!). So you, as Nathan, must make your way through the castle, defeat Drac, and save Morris… oh, and keep Hugh out of trouble too.

The magic system here uses cards that you get from enemies (if you’re lucky). By mixing and matching certain combinations, you’re able to unlock new abilities.

I decided to do something different with this one by posting a longplay. I did this for two reasons: I really don’t have any longplays here except for in the speedruns & longplays primer from last month. And since this is one of the “Metroidvania”-style games, I figured it would be fun to see the game in its’ entirety.

So here it is! Tsunao of the World of Longplay finishes this puppy in a lil’ over 4 hours, so grab some popcorn and get comfy. :)

Be sure to check out the World of Longplay’s YouTube Channel for more longplay action!
